Be Respectful

Students are people too and need to be respected. They have their own values and beliefs and deserve to be listened to. Students need to be treated as individuals with individual learning needs and abilites. As a teacher you must understand that a lesson plan may not cater to every student and that needs to be taken into account. Teachers need to go above and beyond in order for every student to feel comfortable and feel like they have a place in the classroom.

This is true, and I don't think a lot of teachers do respect their students. Mostly its when the student keeps misbehaving. They will walk into the classroom already having a negative attitude towards that student. What if that student was just having a bad day or a bad week? That is not enough to have you not respect them anymore. I had a couple of teachers that did not respect me. I did not listen in that class. I learned nothing from that teacher. She would talk to all of us like we were stupid, and we were wasting her time.

I definitely agree with your valid claims. Students need and deserve respect from their teachers; it is just unfortunate that many educators do not have that mentality. If students are not made to feel comfortable or respected in the classroom, their performance will be really limited. Students' voices in writing, especially, can be stifled if teachers try to impose themselves and their beliefs on students.

I completely agree that respect is one of the most vital components in a classroom. Its important to learn how to interact with your students on a level that they appreciate, so that the communication in the class is comfortable and easier to approach.

Students should always be respected by their teacher as well as other students and educators. Every student may not be on the same level and certains needs may need to be taken into consideration. Some students may need more time on a topic than other students. Teacher's need to respect every student's needs and abilities.

Very well put, I know that some teachers think that their way is the only way to do things and if that doesnt help the student then the teacher will just leave the student to their own devices. To go above and beyond is just part of the job and to not do this does not only prevent you from becoming a great teacher but also prevents the student from becoming a productive member of society.
